Screen Recording

Recording modes

  • Record Tab — captures the current tab including its audio
  • Record Desktop — opens Chrome’s screen picker; choose a monitor, window, or browser tab

Microphone

Toggle the mic on in the popup before starting — or use the mic button in the recording overlay. Mic audio is merged directly into the video file.

First use: Glitch opens a permission page in a new tab. Grant mic access there — the tab closes automatically once granted.

Live annotation tools

During recording, use the toolbar at the bottom of the overlay:

PenP
ArrowA
RectangleR

BlurB
UndoCtrl+Z
Color pickerclick the swatch

Annotations fade out after 3 seconds and are burned into the recording video.

Stopping

Click Stop in the recording overlay, or click the Glitch icon and choose Stop Recording.

Video editor

After stopping, the video editor opens:

  • Drag the trim handles to cut the start or end
  • Preview the trimmed video before saving
  • Click Save Report to download the .html report
